Hi, my name is Zsolt, Founder and Tour Leader. I’ve always been drawn to adventure. I’ve spent countless hours outdoors, traveling, and exploring — whether it was with friends, on my own, or as part of a larger group. Along the way, I tried every way of getting around: trains, buses, planes, and organized tours. Each had its advantages, but none gave me the same sense of joy and discovery as being behind the wheel on a road trip.

Some of my happiest memories were made on those journeys by car. There’s something special about the freedom it gives you — the flexibility to stop wherever you like, take the road less traveled, or even get a little lost and stumble upon something unexpected. Often, when I visited new countries or cities, I’d end up renting a car just to wander. And that’s where the magic happened. When nothing is planned, every corner holds a surprise, and the journey itself becomes the adventure.

But I also realized something important: organizing road trips with friends was never easy. Coordinating schedules, routes, and logistics often turned into more stress than fun. I began searching for companies that offered group driving tours — but most of what I found fell into two categories. On one side, there were exclusive tours for supercar owners; on the other, clubs for classic car enthusiasts.

And that left me wondering: What about the rest of us? The everyday travelers who simply love the open road, who drive ordinary cars but want extraordinary experiences. Where do we fit in?

That’s how DriveWander was born. A community and a company for people who share a passion for road trips, discovery, and authentic travel. We create guided small-group driving tours across Europe, designed for curious travelers who want the freedom to explore hidden gems, but also the joy of sharing the experience with like-minded adventurers.

Because to me, the road is more than just a way to get from one place to another. It’s where stories are made, friendships are built, and where you discover the real heart of a country.
